I was greeted first by the founder, Nelson Wells, who also conducted my initial "phone" interview, and then I met the publicist / partner? Bill Benson. Both were true gentlemen and were warm and welcoming- i was at their Athens, Georgia office- headquarters. Nelson conducted the interview, and he was very professional yet easy to talk to, so much so it made me feel very welcome and calm myself. I've done many an interview, and I must say his style is unique; it's direct yet pressure-free and allowed me to relax. Still, I left feeling like it was one of the most professional interviews I had ever done. We talked about pr, public relations, and radio promotion, most of what Team Clermont is known for, and some about the position I am applying for, music supervisor and sync license promoter. The office was small and in an old classic Historic grocery building near downtown Athens. It was a little crowded with all of the workers and interns, most of whom were on the phone talking about music and radio adds, and publicity talk. But the energy was good- positive, upbeat, and genuine. Anyway, I am waiting to hear back from Nelson to see if I will be heading up their music licensing department which I have experience in. One thing I want to point out; before I interviewed I had heard from a young local music person that team clermont has some air of sexism or that there was some sexist behavior by someone there at one point. What I can speak to is only my personal experience, and as a woman in the music industry I can say that I felt no threat of any sexism nor did I feel as though I would or that any of the women (and I counted 4) in the office showed any signs of not being happy, upbeat and just working hard. Bill and Nelson and the one make intern were all highly professional, respectful, and seemed to care only about their music or clients and conducting a pro interview. PS as I wrote this I heard back and it looks like I will be starting at team clermont soon -so obviously this was not my way of kissing up to get a job. Besides, I think these reviews are anonymous. Anyway, A great place to work in Athens and the music business.
