J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Teaching Lab
Entretien
After an application process with multiple written responses to questions about my experiences and personal values, I interviewed first with the manager of the role's department to share more about myself and help me determine if I was a fit for the company. The interviewer's questions were well-aligned to the application's questions and I felt I had an opportunity to speak more to my values and experience, as well as my interest in the role. After, I submitted performance tasks that aligned to the core functions of the role. The instructions were clear and I felt my thought process was most important rather than if I could "do the thing." In the final interview with a host of Teaching Lab employees, including the manager of the role itself, I again felt like I had the space to elaborate more on what I created and respond to situations that aligned to my values. Overall, the process was well structured, had a clear timeline that Teaching Lab adhered to and I was happy to accept the role when offered.

I clearly should have come to Glassdoor before scheduling my interview! I applied to a manager position in early December 2023. In mid-February 2024, I received an invite to interview. I scheduled my interview through the online Calendly app. On the morning of my interview - about 45 minutes before it was scheduled - I received a rejection email, stating they appreciated my interest but were extending an offer to another candidate. What? Why schedule the interview with me if someone else was in the final stages? The whole thing was a little weird. I was willing to write off some of the red/orange flags but now I think I may have dodged something worse.
