Le processus a pris 3 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Target (Stockton, CA) en avr. 2011

      Entretien

Well I applied online, they did a basic app then a large SAT style skills test which will take you an hour+. I apparently passed that because I got a call from a recruiter next day and did an over the phone interview and we set up interview #2, which was in person. I did interview 2 with a store manager, interview 3 with another store manager about a week apart and was talking with staff, took a store tour, really dug myself in to the Target way to help my chances. I spoke with a current ETL who was hired on with no experience a few months ago, so I thought I had a good shot. He was scared out of his mind, and me being 8 years management retail I thought this would be fairly secure in my skillset to land this job if they hire "nobodys" in retail. Important to note the 2 store manager interviews are not usually the traditional method, but they did it that way in this market. Sad because I drove all over town to answer the same questions from 2 different people. Both did treat me very well, but were not into the process like it was crucial to them. They just ask from a sheet, mark down the sections to rate you based on identifying the problem, creating a solution, and conclusion to the problem (always have a good conclusion!). These have to be based off real scenarios in your life or work, plan up a ton of problems you solved as a manager and be ready to hand out a few in depth scenarios. That is mandatory, prep, read the glassdoor questions its exactly what they ask from the small pool of questions. Well here is the difficult part, the last two steps (5 and 6) of my process are with a DM and HR. I was given a drug test packet before the District Manager interviewed me alone "just in case" so I could do it upon being hired, but dont get your hopes up. It was rushed, and he asked follow up questions to scenarios which the others did not care to ask. He also was picking apart the answers I gave based on my referral to past work, like they liked the fact I knew what I was doing but they were comparing me to a fully trained Target ETL... which I thought was odd, because companies have different philosophies. I made a point to say I wanted to learn and embrace Target's way and learn from the "pros" here at Target. He simply was looking for a blank slate, which concerned me. Naturally, stage 6, was last and was the HR/hire interview. I didn't make it. They sent me an email saying too bad. My anger with this process is I was shuffled around town a lot, I was rescheduled about 4 times (sometimes rescheduling the reschedule again) Id show up and they'd cancel on me in the lobby 10 mins before... was a little miffed by the DM not communicating what they were looking for Vs. what I was answering from my experience. I was anxious at the beginnning of this to work for target, but after 2.5 MONTHS to interview me, I just was happy I had a straight answer from them. It was easy to do as a process, but annoying... I also kinda stopped shopping there since I just have this headache when I see target lol

It was a two step interview process. Personable and you are able to interview with not only your direct managers but theirs as well. Provides transparency into your new team. My interview was virtual because I was moving to the area, but I'm sure they do in person for local folks.
