I applied at the store on the kiosk. Was a fairly simple process, given the questionnaire. Whether you are called for an interview at all depends on your results from that. Pass - maybe - fail.
I was called for an interview about a week later (Monday_ and set up the initial screening process, or first interview over the phone for the next day (Tuesday). For that, standard questions. I should mention that when I was first called to set up the phone interview, the woman I spoke with asked me why I want to work for Target, verified that I had applied for cashier, my availability, and lastly the pay.
Back to the phone interview, it again opened with my availability and then: "Why do you want to work for Target?" I answered that it's a pleasant environment with a friendly and positive atmosphere. Or something like that. Following that was a few situational questions like "Name a time when this happened and what did you do, etc."
It lasted about 15 minutes and then, without being told of the next step or receiving any feedback of my process at all, I got a call on Monday to set up an in-person 1:1 interview for the following Tuesday. A week following my phone interview. Dressed up in business casual and arrived early to take another assessment on the kiosk before going in to the office. Was made to watch a short video detailing the position and such.
Then was taken in to the back and the interview began. Again, they asked about my availability and had me sign to confirm it, this time. "Why do you want to work for Target?" They really, really pride themselves or something, for asking this three separate times. Said the same thing I did the first two times, really. Then they asked about my experience followed by more situational questions. I was nervous for the initial call, nervous over the phone interview, but not all that nervous in person. The interviewer was nice, and easy to speak to.
Unfortunately, no on the spot offer. Was told that I'd hear back within the week if they wanted a "third" interview or not. Instead what I received was an email rejection three days later. Well... better than not letting me know at all, I suppose!
