Target had numerous openings and they were actively searching for applicants on LinkedIn. I responded to a post on the site. I had a phone screen with a screener for Target recruiting shortly thereafter. The phone screen was basic, nothing special about it. The screener said she would get back to me by the end of the week regarding whether I would be brought in for an interview. She called and said that the talent acquisition recruiter didn't think I was right for ANY of the positions and they wouldn't be bringing me in. Really, not one of the positions??? Give me a break, Target. You're not that special. She said if there was a position posted at Target in the future that I was interested in I should contact her and she would see if there was a fit. Well, I think I know that they're won't be a fit because I obviously wasn't good enough for them. Unprofessional and rude. I will never consider Target as a future employer again.

Standard F500 corporate interview starting with the HR recruiter followed by the hiring manager. The interview questions were typical; going through candidate resume and discussing cultural fit for the position.

Was recruited in b-school. They were courteous and very thorough. Initial outreach via phone. Screening and interview process consisted of proprietary multiple choice personality/aptitude test; in-person interview; psychology review/interview. No joke, they brought a psychologist to the school to do the evaluation during the 'interview.'

Question 1
The most difficult aspect was speaking to two people, one of whom was not a professional on the team but a psychologist sitting there checking off boxes on a form. It was almost surreal, and turned me off immediately to the process - it was an examination as much as it was a conversation about how I could help the company/division. Felt overbearing and unnecessarily intrusive, especially at the early stage of the process.
