1. Initial Application & Recruiter Outreach
After applying, I was contacted by a recruiter who provided a brief overview of the company, the role, and what to expect throughout the process.
2. Intro Call with Talent Team
This was a short screening call to go over my background, clarify expectations, and confirm alignment on role and responsibilities.
3. Technical Interview
A 1-hour session focused on my experience with technical integrations, problem-solving skills, and how I approach common issues in complex environments. It involved both hypothetical questions and examples from past projects.
4. API Strategy Challenge – Status Mapping Assignment
Instead of a traditional case study, Taptap Send prepared a hands-on status mapping assignment. The task involved analyzing a partner’s API and mapping its response statuses to Taptap Send’s internal transaction states.
This required critical thinking, API familiarity, and an understanding of how transaction status flows impact not just system behavior, but also user experience and business operations. The assignment tested both my technical depth and my ability to reason through edge cases with a product mindset.
5. Final Interviews (Stakeholder/Team Fit)
I met with team members and future stakeholders from product, engineering, and operations. The goal was to assess cross-functional collaboration, communication style, and overall cultural fit.
6. Offer & Onboarding
I received the offer shortly after the final interviews. The onboarding process was clear and well-supported, handled through Remote.com with guidance from the People Ops team. Expectations and documentation were shared early, and the communication throughout was excellent.
