This job title and description was actually very misleading. I found out that the marketing director is actual a business development officer / cold sales / relationship building role rather than a marketing role (no marketing decisions, business analytics, advertising strategy involved) just selling contracts locally. I was selected for an interview even though I have zero experience as a business development salesperson, and 15 years in art direction and marketing leadership roles and an MBA in marketing analytics.
Process:
1st—teams call with (national) HR for initial screening
2nd—on-site interview with hiring manager
3rd—panel interview with executives (on teams)

Interview process starts with an initial phone call screening to get to know candidate and establish if the position is a right fit or not. Compensation was discussed. Interviewer was very friendly and interested in getting to know me.
