I was contacted via email and asked my salary requirements and I provided and was then scheduled for initial interview. My first interview with went well and then I was scheduled to meet with the team and it also went well.
A couple days later, I was emailed me an offer letter and it was not within range of my requirements that I provided . I did mention the requirements but they could not meet them, but mentioned they could give small increase in a few months. I took time and review the total picture (so I thought) and verbally accepted offer. I was told the team was excited to have me onboard. I gave date that I could start and it was agreed. I always like to be fair to a current employer with transition and training involved.
I was sent a benefits package after the fact and the prices were quite expensive , also considering the salary was lower than expected. I had a couple of questions about insurance options. I was then contacted about a change in start date in which I had to stand by the date that we agreed upon.
Maybe 2 hours later or so, I receive an email that says they are in a hiring freeze and that my offer had to be rescinded. I have never heard of such a thing in my entire career. Who does that ?? Just because I had questions about the pricey insurance and could not change start date , this is what you come up with? Absolutely hilarious but a blessing in disguise….this is not the type of organization I want to be associated with. And thankfully , since I didn’t have any signed documents at this point , I had not resigned from my current job . This overall experience makes my current job look beautiful, so thank you TLR!
