First, there was a recruiter screen. Then a hiring manager interview for an hour. Should I have moved forward, I would have done a portfolio review and 1:1 with others.
The hiring manager had very little experience in the field. I was very aware that she was intimidated by my experience. It was clear that I should be in her position and her in the one I was interviewing for. Just the way she had grown the team was absurd. Way too large for the size of company. I think she got hired when there were very few people available and her job outgrew her experience. She might be a great researcher, but she would have been more successful in the job with more experience. I wasn't surprised not to move on -- but disappointed only because I love the product and I would be awesome in growing the product and the company.
