I had thought things were going well, and enjoyed meeting people at the company before suddenly being ghosted. It was very strange since I had been told not long before that I would be moving to the next stage of the process, and then all communication ceased and my calls and emails were not returned. I understand if the position has been filled, but ghosting candidates is not the right way to go about it.

Spero's interview process is extremely thorough, and I honestly believe that's in interest of the candidate as well as the company. You're interviewing them as much as they're interviewing you. My process probably took about four weeks, but I was kept up to date with quick responses throughout. Any time lag in-between was simply finding time on busy people's schedules. I heard back after every interview panel, whether it was to check up on how things went or to tell me the next steps. I was interviewed for one position, but offered another. Either way I knew I wanted to work with the company. Again, the whole process was extremely thorough. I don't necessarily want to work for a company I interview with one day and receive an offer the next. I'm weary about companies that want to move so fast. When companies are diligent or methodical, it's because they're not just focusing on hiring, but retention as well. I think I was most impressed by their process for submitting references. Spero uses a software where all you have to do is provide the reference's information through a portal, they then email them a survey, and you are able to track the process in case you need to follow up with one of them to submit. Less hassle all around. Even my references were impressed.
