      Had an initial interview with a TA partner which went well, talked through the team, the company etc and it all seemed promising and very interesting. I went on to the next stage which was an interview with the hiring manager. That went well as well, the hiring manager was very transparent and said based on my experience I did well but it could be worth looking at a level down and adjusting my salary expectations Vs what the TA partner had initially taken me through. This was so that they’d know what level to continue interviewing me at. I was fine with this and told the TA partner I’d like to be aim for the higher end of that position and see how it goes. Everything seemed fine, I was told I’d been put through to the next stage which was the take home assignment, which I received but nothing was scheduled and I heard nothing back from the TA partner after this. I followed up multiple times and sent an email to the TA ops team as well and heard absolutely nothing back. No feedback, nothing to say they won’t be proceeding or that the position has been filled etc.

      I recently went through the hiring process with Spendesk for Analytics Engineer position, and I wanted to share my experience to provide insights for other job seekers. While the company had promising aspects, there were several inconsistencies and severe communication issues that left me disappointed. The hiring process consisted of five stages, starting with a call with the TA partner, followed by a meeting with the hiring manager, a take-home task, a presentation of the task, and a final interview to assess cultural fit and company attributes. I completed all these stages successfully and received positive feedback from everyone involved. However, the process became unnecessarily prolonged. My first interview took place on March 28th, and the final interview occurred on April 17th. Unfortunately, the company failed to meet the timeline they had initially provided, and the process ended up lasting a total of 45 days! After the final interview, I patiently waited for an offer, but the company encountered further delays! The TA partner informed me that his colleague would take over, and on May 5th, the new TA partner explained that the company had a temporary hiring freeze, during which the previous TA partner and other members of the TA department were let go. Eventually, on May 11th, the final decision was conveyed to me. According to their feedback, I was considered to be a more senior and technically stronger candidate compared to others. However, the company made assumptions that I would not be engaged with the role due to its seniority level and my expected salary, which was on the higher end of their budget. They believed I would not be satisfied with the position and salary offered, as they were actually seeking a more junior candidate. What disappointed me the most was the lack of consistency and clarity throughout the process. The company failed to communicate their expectations regarding the role and the salary range from the beginning. If they had explicitly stated that they were seeking a junior candidate within a lower budget, I would have reconsidered my decision to proceed with the interviews, saving both my time and theirs. Overall, my interview experience was marred by inconsistent decision-making, a significant lack of communication, and a complete disregard for transparency. If any of these factors are important to you, I recommend carefully considering whether to apply for a job at this company.

      Had an interview with HR. It was very positive. HR explained the team and company projections, gave details on the team. Never heard from them again. Send an e-mail after a week to clarify. No response
