Phone Interview followed by interview in conference room with the team (five people). They asked typical interview questions and did not provide any coding questions. They were nice and friendly during the interview. I also received a prompt reply on their plans moving forward.

You have to be interviewed by 4 different people and go through intense questions about your work history. They get every detail. I think it's unnecessary, but they do it.

They initially do a brief phone interview. I then completed an on-line behavioral assessment which comprised of selecting various nouns/verbs that I feel fit who I am as well as the ones I perceive are expected by others in the workplace. I was moved forward to an in-person interview, and it was going very well until the very end (almost 1-1/2 hours in), when I was asked about my salary expectations. I stated that I was open to considering any reasonable offer based on the responsibilities of the position and then asked if they could share the salary range with me. I was told no, so I came up with a range based on what I had seen on-line was a median salary for this role, and the whole mood shifted in the room. Not surprisingly, I did not get offered the position, even though I also stated I was open to negotiating. Since they were not open to negotiating, I think they would have saved everyone's time had they asked or revealed the salary range from the beginning. I also feel that they might have chosen to tell me what the range is and see if I was open to it. I don't understand the secrecy some companies have around the salary question. What started out as an exciting opportunity turned into a frustrating experience.
