There were two interviews: the first was with my manager-to-be; the second with his manager (a week later). Both interviews were pitched at the right level. Fairly informal but questions were asked to test knowledge. Easy enough interviews if you know your stuff and have researched the company.
I have since interviewed people myself whilst working for this company. From the other side, I can see that it seems that there might not be a set process for how the interviews go; it might very well depend on who the interviewer is and which department you're applying to. Having said that, it seem that, unlike my own interviews, most interviews are carried out by at least two people (i.e. a panel); usually the manager-to-be and a team member. Not sure if they still do two rounds of interviews.
I enjoyed my two interviews; the first (with my direct manager) was more informal than the second. The challenge was just right and there was room to answer a question or two with an honest "I don't know" (just make sure you explain why you don't know, and what you can do to change this!).
