2 technical. One manager round. Technical rounds oral. No written test or online test. My first technical was based on Java/Selenium and went on for more than an hour. That was a good one. The person who took the interview was very knowledgeable and he was a Test lead who is serving in the company from last 8 years. Quite impressive. I had to wait for my first round feedback and I was sitting in reception. There were 4 others guys with me (all around 6-7 years of experience like me), who were also waiting for first round feedback. One strange thing I noticed is....if you are cleared the first round, then someone will come and accompany you for the second round, if not, you will get a call in the reception desk and you will be asked to leave. 3 guys left like that. I was wishing I should not get a phone call in the reception :)
I was sent to the second technical round after lunch since I got a positive feedback in first round. One good thing was they offered free lunch in the office cafeteria to save our time. That was good hospitality and I appreciate that. My second technical round was full of server/client related questions, software testing process related questions and full of testing related and went on for more than 2 hours!....I was really exhausted after answering all his questions for more than 2 hours continuously. I was asked to wait again in reception. Again I wished I should not get a phone call :)
I got positive feedback in 2nd technical too so I was almost sure I will be sent to a final manager round. As expected I was sent to a manager round. Here comes the final surprise. I went for an interview on a working day, Friday, since they don't conduct interviews on weekends. So it was almost 430 in the evening to finish the first 2 technical rounds. I went for interview at 1030am.
Manager round ....questions about my experience, what are my strengths, what are the challenges faced in previous projects etc. All went well for first 5 mins. The last question in the manager round , which I was not expecting.....Are you from Bangalore ? Are you from Karnataka ? Are you a Kannadiga ? My answers were Yes.
Interview was over and I was asked to wait in the reception. I was 99% sure that I will get an offer since all technical cleared and manger round was also went well. But, I GOT A CALL IN RECEPTION. HR told you are not through , I am sorry, you can leave for the day, I will try in some other team. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was hell shocked to know this , what made manager to reject me in the final round after clearing 2 rigorous technical rounds. It was clear that he was hiring only Telugu people since he was also from AP, a state in South India. Its really frustrating to know hiring is based on region/language. Would never recommend this company to my professional friends. Its completely a waste of time to attend the interview. Thanks!
