      Candidature

J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez SoMe (Chicago, IL) en avr. 2018

      Entretien

I was referred by a friend for this role who was a SoMe employee at the time. I was asked to have a phone interview, an in-person interview with the same two people I had a phone interview with, complete a written assessment, and meet in-person once more with the two founders. When one of the founders could not make the interview, I was asked to carry out a 4th interview with the founder who could not attend the interview, which I declined, as they expected a 1 hour phone interview at 9am the following day, with less than 24 hours of notice and without regard for my full-time job. It took nearly 3 weeks for SoMe to email me and tell me that they would not be extending an offer. The email was sloppily written and did not have the correct title of the job I had interviewed for. After reading another review of the interview process, I strongly suspect that SoMe was looking to learn industry tips, rather than make a hire, especially after I completed a detailed "assessment" that was never spoken of after I submitted it. I also interviewed twice and was not asked what my salary expectations were. Looking back, I consider myself lucky that I did not get or accept an offer at such a disorganized company. There does not seem to be any sort of respect for candidates here; I shudder to think of how they treat their employees.

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 5 jours. J'ai passé un entretien chez SoMe en sept. 2017

      Entretien

I was instructed to call a conference line rather than being called directly, which was fine at first. The format went downhill towards the end of the interview when their next caller called in early and joined the conversation. They had to quickly ask him to call back in 5 minutes and hurried me off the phone. Very unprofessional in my opinion; at least use different lines or space out the calls. Quite embarrassing on their end. During the interview, I was able to learn more about the role since there wasn’t much solid information in the description on their job posting. I learned it wasn’t for me and was very polite in carrying out the rest of the call. However, when one of the interviewers (there were 2 total) realized this role wasn’t a fit, she became short and a bit rude with her comments towards me. Needless to say, neither party thought this was a good fit. When they emailed me later, they didn’t even use the correct position title in the email to say they are not moving forward with me at this time. Overall, I was left with a very unprofessional impression of this company.
