This was a strange experience. A recruiting manager reached out to me on Linkedin to see if I would be open. I took the call, and became curious about the recruiting model they employ to hold hiring mangers accountable. This call was about 30 minutes but was really one way. She talked a lot about this model and her experiences getting acclimated as she came from an agency background. My process proceeded to do another call with another recruiting manager for 30 minutes. My assumption was since they didn’t ask me questions on the first round that this call would be to learn about my background and how I may or not be a fit for this model. Turns out this call was very similar. This second manager spent 30 minutes explaining his experience and model (all of which I understood already) but asked me nothing about myself. Fast forward, I got another note to schedule a third round. I was sure this one will give them a chance to learn about my background, especially since it was scheduled for 45 minutes. I reviewed there values and came prepared with examples I thought would be reflective. This third call was a real dog & pony show because this recruiting manager (or director), continued to sell me but with a slide deck of a power point showcasing Snowflake’s success. He went on for 45 minutes and did not ask me a single question. I tried to insert myself when I thought appropriate to express my enthusiasm, ask some questions, and provide anecdotes on how I could be a fit. However, he cut me off and continued to pitch. I followed up with the original recruiting manager but never heard back, nor did I receive any close out notes from the coordinator. Remember they reached out to me, I did not apply, and they totally wasted my time.
