Got a mail from the HR through a job portal and she scheduled an interview at Delhi office. The day started at 11 AM when I was given a lengthy form to fill and then wait for the interviewers. At around 12 PM, two guys (they were clearly less experienced) entered the room and started asking questions.
Starting with some regular intro questions, they started reading my CV and asking about my previous experiences and employers. Things started getting bad when one of them asked if I have experience in designing a test automation framework. I started explaining the same, but they seemed to be too fond of seeing the regular framework diagrams from internet that they looked uncomfortable with what I was showing them. (childish questions like if click method is there in webdriver, why did you write it again in your common function library. I told him multiple times that I have extended the existing function with logging and to handle element exceptions but to no avail)
There was a bias towards Java, the automation framework in Java would have made them happy. Plus Java build tools knowledge would have done. After around 45 mins, they decided its all they have to ask.
The HR came with a comment that the candidate has inadequate knowledge of automation frameworks!! I said fine then.
