      Entretien pour Interactive Content Strategist

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. J'ai passé un entretien chez SnapApp (Boston, MA) en août 2017

      Entretien

The process was a bait and switch, plain and simply. I was recruited on LinkedIn by SnapApp and was interested in the strategist role because the company seemed to be leading a unique form of content marketing - in addition, this role would be a jump in title and pay compared to my current job. After going into the office for two different interviews, I was given an offer for the "Associate Strategist" role that had a much lower salary than what the the recruiter had outlined and confirmed with me. I declined the offer because I disappointed with how they handled the change in role and was a red flag for me for several reasons: 1) SnapApp doesn't have a dedicated HR person or team to handle the interview process. It all went through their office coordinator and the head of strategy, who would have been my supervisor. I felt that this was unprofessional even for a 5-7 year-old start up. 2) When I was offered the lower salary and position over the phone, she didn't explain to me how this role wasn't the same one came in for two interviews. I needed to follow up separately asking how the roles differ rather than her being upfront and transparent about it. (I also checked their site to see if they the associate role was listed. It wasn't, so I didn't even know what the role entailed, even if I was interested.) 3) After I politely and respectably declined (via email) and explained the inconsistency in the recruiter vs. the ultimate offer, she never responded to me. I found this extremely disrespectful and unprofessional considering I spoke with her 1-1 almost 5 different times about the role. Overall, this process was messy. I would not have wasted my time to come into the office for a total of 4 hours if I had known this was going to a lateral move. I'm writing this in hopes that SnapApp improves their interview process and those interested in working there know ahead of time that they very well might pull a bait and switch.
