Had an in-person interview which went well and if I can remember correctly, I believe there only were three questions asked. Questions were very general (tell me about yourself, work experience) and naturally led into more in-depth conversation. Interviewer seemed to like me and I was told then that we would set up a site visit for me to come along to. The issue occurred when I had sent a thank you email/follow up for scheduling site visit - I had some questions about the position (staff retention/client retention, how many kids are on a caseload, how often do supervisors check in with staff, common challenges that BTs may face). I didn’t receive a response to my email so I sent additional one just simply asking about the scheduled home visit. I received an email back saying I would no longer be considered for the position because the nature of my questions made me seem “ doubtful“ that the job would work for my professional career. I feel fortunate that I didn’t get the job lol an employer giving that type of pushback to questions is a MAJOR red flag...just like an org shops around for employees, an individual is allowed to shop around for an employer. Never stop questioning lol

The interview was one-on-one with the director of the program and very straightforward. She asked about my relevant experience as well as what strengths would make me a good Special Education Teaching Assistant.
