We'd push back a little on the framing here. The number of stages isn't about accountability or decision avoidance - each step is designed to assess something distinct, and the people involved at each stage bring a different perspective on fit. That's true regardless of the level of the role, because getting the right person in is just as important for a junior position as it is for a senior one.
On the application questions: we do ask candidates to go beyond their resume because we're looking for how someone thinks and communicates, not just what they've done. That said, we hear the feedback that some questions feel repetitive and we'll look at where we can tighten that up.
