Without going into specifics due to NDA contract, I will try to be as specific as I can to provide some useful feedback. I was interviewing for a (greater than) senior engineer position (staff in their org chart).
Good experience overall. Work environment was friendly and not as hectic as a regular startup would be. Engineers seemed competent and relatively experienced. Location is great, in the heart of Boston downtown.
Unfortunately, the package that I got was not too high. I also really did not like the work environment because it was too cramped and dark. The building was old and tiny and bathrooms were also really small!

This is the only time I’ve been ghosted by a recruiter that I’d already screened with so it stood out as a weird experience.
I responded to recruiter outreach on LinkedIn that I was interested learning about this role. We scheduled a call and she went over more details about the role, the team, my background, and the rest of the interview process.
She asked how my interview process was going and whether I was in any final stages. I said I had a final interview (a conversation with an exec) that same week. She asked why I'm still interested in interviewing which was unexpected…I mean obviously because I'm looking for a job and hadn't gotten an offer yet? She also asked for the name of the company which was also unexpected and I’ve never been asked to share this before, and pressed for the name when I responded by just describing the company. I shared the name—it may or may not have mattered much—but I didn't appreciate being pressured to share something she didn’t really need to know.
I expressed interest in continuing the process and she recommended getting me on a call with the hiring manager asap, to which I agreed but said I needed to check my schedule. So she said she would have a coworker send the schedule. And then I never heard back…A few days later, I reached out to ask if the position had been filled because I couldn't find the job listing and didn't get a response. I assume they just filled the position within the next two days, but an update would have been nice since I was actually very interested in the role.

Question 1
Are you in final rounds or have other offers? Are you okay with hybrid work policy?

My recent job interview was a refreshingly positive experience. It was structured as multiple sessions, each led by a different pair of employees from a diverse mix of roles within the company. This approach provided me with a well-rounded perspective on the team and company culture.
Each session had a natural, engaging flow, with no awkward silences or forced transitions. The interviewers maintained a friendly and conversational tone throughout, making it easy for me to feel comfortable and open. Rather than focusing solely on technical skills, they emphasized understanding my work habits, personality, and passion for the role. This approach made the experience feel much more human and collaborative.
What stood out most was the variety of perspectives I encountered. Speaking with people from different roles offered unique insights into the company’s values and cross-functional collaboration. Their questions were thoughtful, encouraging me to reflect on my experiences, while their follow-up questions demonstrated genuine interest in my responses.
Overall, the multi-session, multi-role format was both engaging and encouraging. I appreciated the chance to connect with so many different team members and felt that the company truly values a holistic approach to hiring. If this experience reflects the day-to-day interactions within the company, I would be excited to be part of such a thoughtful and inclusive environment.
