First phone interview with the recruiter was so-so. Lady thought that I was applying for a different position, so questions were unrelated until we finally cleared this out. Other from that - pretty standard recruiter questions. Then there was a test task with a deadline of 1 week. I don't mind test tasks in general, but this one frustrated me a bit. I literally felt that I'm wasting 3-4 workdays on it and this guarantees nothing. The requirements were imprecise, so I ended up asking a ton of questions. And the response took 1.5-2 days out of a 7days deadline. After that there was an auto-evaluation program that checked your solution. It was working fine in my environment but it didn't in the environment of the guy that was checking the task. And they simply don't even check your work if it doesn't pass this evaluation. So I ended up working for a week (including QA sessions) without even having my code checked. After I've submitted my solution there was a complete silence for a week or something. So I notified the recruiter. They responded that "they will get back to me soon". After a week or so, a guy that was checking the solution reached out with some questions. Then again a week of silence, and then a letter "We are not moving forward with your application as your solution didn't pass the evaluation mechanism". Did you, guys, really need 4 weeks to write that?

The interview process is described by the following steps: - Initial HR Screening: a 30min non-technical interview where you will be asked about your motivation and past experience. E.g. "tell me about something you are proud of?". Also, you have the chance to ask non-technical questions about the company. - Hiring Manager Interview: a 60min technical interview with your potential future team lead. Here, you will be asked about algorithms, data structures and database principles. Again, here you have the chance to ask questions (in particular, technical questions and questions about the team). - Home Assessment Task: the task is to solve a real-life problem with any programming language (but in my case, Java was prefered) within a one week time frame. Simscale provides you a small program to evaluate your solution. I would recommend starting to work on this early, as the task might be time consuming depending on your skills. - Panel Interview: here you will meet the team (in my case: the hiring manager, a senior developer of your potential future team, and the VP of engineering). They asked me technical questions about my past experience, about data structures and behavioural questions.
