This company wants to hire rockstars but only wish to pay back up singer rates.
I got approached by their HR on LinkedIn and we spoke about expected salary right from the start. They took the process further and I was under the assumption that they are fine with the salary quoted. I went down for 3 rounds of interview, with some interview rounds as long as 2 hours. When I got the offer, it was a 20% pay cut from my current drawn salary.
PSA: If the HR team is reading this, please do not waste candidate's time from the start if you are not willing to pay for experienced hire. Stick to hiring impressionable fresh grads. Working professionals do not have time to be wasting with you for interviews only to be sold "the startup experience" or "culture". If you want experienced hires, show the money first.
