Hello – thank you for your review. When the position was first posted, yes this internal employee was part of the interview process. We had not decided on a candidate when COVID-19 happened and all our positions were placed on hold, including the Leader of DevOps. When the position was reopened nearly two months later, the internal successful candidate decided to apply. At this time this internal candidate was no longer part of the interview process, as this would be unethical and unfair to the other candidates being interviewed.
