I'd been recommended for this position by my former supervisor to one of their Directors. I completed 4 interviews in total. 1 HR screener, 2 in-person with the hiring manager and 2 Exec Leadership staff, and 1 phoner with a consultant. I was thorough in my submissions and thoughtful in my answers. The hiring manager said promising things and that she'd get back to me by a certain date. When that date came and went, I followed up only to find out she'd left on a long vacation. After 4 interviews and all my hard work, I was ghosted by the hiring manager and the HR department. They never told me what happened or if someone else was hired. I was extremely disheartened.
