Initially, I attempted to apply online but I never got a response from anyone. Then, I had a friend who worked there refer me for an internship position.
I got an email from a lead software developer to schedule a phone interview. A month later, I had about a 35 min conversation with this lead software developer I got an email by phone. I spoke with him about my project. He told a fair bit about the company. At the end of the interview, he told me he wanted to schedule an in-person interview. I later received a follow up email.
About two months later, I had an in person interview. I was immediately at ease when I met my interviewer; She was very easy to talk to and it felt like I already knew her for 6 months. She was one of the team leads. We pretty much used my resume as a framework for what we talked about. It felt more like a conversation than an interview. The interview was located in a small conference room and lasted for a little over 2 hours.
About an hour in or so, another interviewer came in too. I had the impression that it was on rather short notice that he would be interviewing me because they were double booked for interviews.
Near the end of the interview, I had the opportunity to ask both of them a few questions.
After the interview, the woman who interviewed me toured me around the office, showed me where she worked, and introduced me to one of the current interns. I also received an email thanking me for coming in.
About a month after that, I received a formal offer by email.
