I scheduled an interview late in the afternoon. I arrived about 15 minutes early and was promptly greeted and told that I would be interviewing with the CEO and offered water/coffee. I sat in the office for about a minute before he came in.
The CEO has very open body language that exuded confidence. Through the process, he explained a lot to me what the company was about and that they were new. He questioned me why I was looking for an internship position as a graduate from a prestigious university, and I told him the truth, I needed the experience. He questioned about some topics that I honestly had no idea about, so I asked for examples, and just truthfully said no I had no idea about it. He was understanding though, and talked about how I should learn some of that, and in some other cases I would be paid to learn some advanced use of things like Excel.
I thought the interview experience was good, and it was a pleasure speaking to him. He toted that the internship position might be above me, and perhaps in the future when they grew they would have a full time paid position available for me for sure. I conceded, but still expressed I was interested in an internship for experience.
I am in the process of following up and awaiting a response.
