This company had a highly unethical and disorganized interview process. After going through multiple rounds of interviews, I was asked to complete a lengthy take-home assignment that took me 2-3 days to finish.
The company had promised to compensate me for this work, but after I was ultimately rejected, they completely ghosted me when I followed up multiple times about the promised compensation.
During the interviews, the interviewers never once discussed or referenced the take-home assignment, which suggests they did not even review it. This makes me believe they simply exploited me for free labor rather than genuinely evaluating my skills and qualifications.
The overall interview process was highly disorganized as well. While the interviewers themselves were kind and friendly, it was clear across the various interviews that they had little to no familiarity with my resume or background, even as I progressed through more rounds.
While I'm relieved I did not get the job, I'm still incredibly frustrated by the company's unethical / unprofessional conduct and disregard for my time. They should not have promised compensation for the take-home work if they never intended to follow through. At the very least, they should have provided feedback on the assignment during the interviews and demonstrated a basic familiarity with my background.
I would strongly caution others against applying to this company, as they appear to have a total disregard for respecting candidates' time and effort. The irony is that their value proposition for creating impact does not appear to align with their internal processes and practices.
