J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez ScribeAmerica (Los Angeles, CA) en nov. 2021

The interview process lasted ~ 2 to 3 weeks. I was referred by one of my old coworkers which certainly helped (if you know someone that works within the company I suggest you respectfully ask them to refer you! I believe they get a reward for referring and your chances of being selected for an interview are much higher). After applying directly through the website for my preferred location, I received a standard email from a chief scribe with 7 basic questions & a link to a typing test. I had 2 weeks to respond to all the questions and providing a screenshot of my typing test results (they look for anything over 60wpm but the faster and more accurate you go the better! I suggest you take it a couple of times if need be and choose from your highest results. The 7 questions asked about availability (they are looking for people that are very available and willing to take up to 4 shifts/week), where you live and if you'd be comfortable commuting to the desired location, if you are a student/which commitments you have over the next year/year and a half, how long you are willing to commit to the program (always say ~1.5 to 2 years), and finally they ask you to summarize in 2-3 sentences a procedure you would be interested in observing and why. After submitting your answers then you wait until the chief scribe from that exact location reaches out to schedule a virtual interview that lasts ~30 minutes (dress is semi-formal). For context, the chief scribe reached out to me within 3 days of responding to the questions. He also sent a link to schedule the interview via Calendly. When it was time for my virtual interview my wifi was really spotty so I suggest you make sure you have steady wifi because they want to make sure you are in semi-formal dress. It was a pretty smooth interview with not a lot of situational based questions (only 2) and the chief scribe went into detail about the role of the medical scribe (pros/cons) etc. After the interview the chief scribe stated he would be in touch with an update by the following week. I made sure to send a quick thank you email (within 24 hours) and by the following week I was sent my formal hiring email directly from HR itself! Couple of tips- make sure you have 2 questions to ask the person interviewing you at the end since they reserve the last 2 minutes for any questions, I took notes as he was talking (I let him know this beforehand so that he didn't think I was distracted or not paying attention- since I was applying to a scribe position I only assumed that this may be perceived positively (it did!), keep your responses short and to the point it gets easy to ramble, express your open availability from the beginning once asked and state that you are committed to staying for about 1.5/2 years (this is what they are looking for!). Good luck!
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
1. Tell me about yourself?
2. How would you handle being in a stressful environment?
3. Say that you are in the room with the patient & doctor when suddenly your computer shuts down what would you do? (best way to answer this is to always be prepared with a plan b- have a notebook/pen with you at all times in case something goes wrong with the computer for example)
4. Why are you interested in scribing? If you weren't scribing what other avenues would you pursue?
The communication prior to the interview primarily took place through email, which made the process straightforward and easy to follow. The interview itself was conducted virtually, and the interviewers were friendly, professional, and made the experience comfortable.

The interview process included an intuitive pre-recorded video interview as part of the initial application. Responses have multiple submission attempts, and you could watch your video back before submitting. I heard back from a hiring ambassador within 2 days of submitting to confirm my work availability and ability to commute to the proposed site. I received an offer within 1 week of applying. Response time may depend on the site and current needs. After accepting the offer, you will undergo additional steps depending on your site, including but not limited to a background check, e-consent forms, the credentialing process (paperwork, medical testing (UDS + QFT and mask fit), medical terminology exam, onboarding call, ScribeU courses, EHR training, bridge/floor training). Onboarding steps are very clear to follow, prepare you well for the role, and are paid.

One behavioral interview with a lead scribe who asked about my experiences working with patients and doctors. Although I had none, they still accepted me because of my previous experience in the STEM field and interest to go into medicine.
