The first step was the recruiter connected with me to set up a time to talk to her. I spoke with her and then she connected me with somebody on the team. From there, I had a second round interview. The final step would have been to go on-site and and interview with the team and do product related problems.
My biggest issues with the interviewing and recruiting process at Samsara is that it is not well-organized by the recruiter. Then, during the second interview, the interviewer was driving while I was interviewing. The interviewer seemed distracted and the call dropped during the interview. Overall, a true lack of professionalism by these individuals who were recruiting me.

They would ask you basic questions in the JD, Learn IT Ops and how technologies like cloud and data are solving problems. The HR staff are friendly but they would test your knowledge of the job

Good and positive experience. Walking thru the process was very useful. Initial screening focus based on the experience one had. And feedback provided as a follow up. Enough time was provided to the candidate to answer the questions and ask any clarifications or follow up queries.

What is your most challenging and risk taking work

Extensive process involving many rounds - recruiter screen, hiring manager screen, take-home case, interview loop/panel with live case and behavioral, and then exec call. The exec I spoke with was not prepared for the interview and the call itself felt very disorganized. In my experience, the only interview that truly mattered was the exec call -- the rest of the rounds, case study, etc are a lot of time and effort for very little return, no matter how well you perform.

Most questions are behavioral "tell me about a time when X" style questions, just like Amazon's leadership principle-based questions. Follow the STAR format and you'll do well.
