The interview process at Samsara was great. My recruiter kept me updated throughout. He provided feedback and advice for a successful next round. The process was long but the recruiter set that expectation up front.

This was one of the most impersonal interview experiences I’ve ever had. The process moved quickly at the beginning but then had a 3 week hiatus in the middle. By the time the 3rd round interview happened, it was basically like starting at the beginning again. All interviews were jam packed with situational based questions, so there wasn’t enough time to build rapport or have a human conversation. The interviews all felt like an interrogation. I got a canned email from the recruiter saying they chose not to move forward. I asked for feedback and no response. I found this unprofessional after I spent several hours in interviews with the company.

Initially, I was invited to speak with a recruiter. During this call, I was expecting to discuss my experience in more detail and receive more information about the company. However, the recruiter seemed disinterested and rushed, and I did not have the opportunity to ask many questions as they ended the very early. Shortly after the call, I received an automatic rejection email, which surprised me as I believed my experience aligned with the job requirements. I followed up with the recruiter, asking for feedback on my application and interview, but did not receive a response. I then sent a more formal follow-up email, but was once again ghosted. I found this experience to be disappointing, especially as the company appeared to be a great place to work based on my research. I believe that recruiters should be more sympathetic towards candidates and provide honest feedback, rather than ghosting them. As candidates, we are often asked to provide feedback on how we think we would fit within the role, where we are in the process with other companies and how we feel about the salary, but recruiters do not always provide the same level of transparency in return. Overall, my experience with Samsara's recruiting process was a negative one, and I hope that they really consider looking at improving in the future.
