Showed up for an interview, they told me I showed up at the wrong time, started to show them the email with the time and my response confirming it, they dismissed it, told me they'd deal with it.
Interview was a basic "tell us about you" thing, with a two person panel. Then they gave me an exam. The complexity of the questions ranged, but the real kicker were the lateral thinking problems.
They were not very well written.
After the exam, one of the interviewers comes back to talk with me about the process. I gave my answers using the constraints of the question.
Now, the point of lateral thinking questions is to answer them in a non linear / creative fashion.
When I answered them, I was told I was wrong.
I then clarified that the questions weren't written very well, and I answered with the information i was given.
At the end, they made me an offer, significantly lower than the average for the position / qualifications. When I asked why it was this way, instead of explaining the benefits they offered they defended it, saying that only people with several years of experience make that (false), and told me that I didn't have experience (invalidating my degree, and the fact that while it is not professional experience, I am actually trained in what I am applying for.)
The interviewers were pretty smug about this, and I'm pretty sure they are preying on younger programmers or under-qualified ones so they can sell them a low wage.
