Entretien
I received an online test with two parts. One was related to a logic test and the other one was a more work-environment test. After passing these test I had a technical interview.
J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 3 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Rolls-Royce (Derby, Angleterre)
Entretien
The process was very straightforward, I applied online and was told to do the psychometric test a the next day. Get some practice before you do it! After getting past the stage, I was told about 3 months later to attend an Assessment Centre. Know your stuff about the company, as much as you can as it helps. At the start of the day, make sure you interact and meet people and prepare a fun fact about you! Assessment centre consists of 3 parts.
1. Competency? Knowledge of the company interview:- They ask why you want to work for Rolls Royce and you have to give a 5 minute presentation. Prepare well in advance. I used a book called 'How to succeed at interviews' as a guideline on answering questions. They might not necessarily ask everything you prepared for ( I did not get any competency questions) and the interview was a lot more relaxed than anticipated. Knowledge on the company is key. Study their press releases and comb through the website. Develop opinions for yourself and let your personality come through when interacting (Smiling helps). They ask you questions based on what you tell them so know your stuff as it can get really deep.
2. Technical Interview:-This was challenging and its meant to be. Know your stuff in what you are applying for as you will be asked questions. Say what you are thinking out loud!! The interviewer does guide you as you go along. Take your time in listening and hearing the questions, there might be something specific that they are looking to draw out of you. They ask you what you like doing about your course and ask questions based on that so be careful what you say. Take a pen and paper to take notes on the stuff you do not know for future reference.
3. Group Work:- The best one of them all!! It is really fun to do. Listen carefully to the instructions and work as a team as much as you can. Take on advice and nominate yourself to do something if you are confident in doing it. As a team you have to build a paper air plane and make a presentation on your choices so be time conscious and organised. Listen to instructions properly!!!!!It is very key. My group was able to complete the task and we did very good, through team work. Remember to have fun in all this.
