After completing a couple of phone interviews, I was flown to Milwaukee for an on-site interview. While there I interviewed with a number of people including the hiring manager, the hiring manager's boss and several peers. The interview itself went well and everyone I met with was very nice and professional. It's how I was treated after that is the reason for my negative experience. They apparently decided not to move forward with me although no one ever actually communicated this me. After taking a day off from my current job and spending a whole day traveling to their office and interviewing, the hiring manager couldn't be bothered to take a few minutes to let me know that they weren't moving forward with me. Not only did this person not proactively reach out to me to let me know, but also ignored multiple emails that I sent requesting an update. Although initially a little disappointed when I realized they weren’t moving forward with me, after I was treated this way I realized that working for this person would not be a good fit. All candidates who take the time to interview at a company deserve to be treated with common courtesy and respect- even those who aren't given an offer. I expected more from a company like Rockwell.
