I applied twice. First-year I didn't pass through a couple of algorithmic questions on the unhuman HackerRank test. This time I applied through LinkedIn and got rejected. Then I was contacted by a recruiter and scheduled Karat technical screening. They use a third-party company to do screenings. The interviewer was nice. It was online coding with two easy and medium tasks in C++. I was able to solve both of them and was told that it was successful to schedule a phone call with a hiring manager. The hiring manager called on time and was very nice. Most of the time, she was explaining how great the company is and how many great positions I can fit. It was mostly her who was talking all 25 minutes. I explained to her my background and interests. A recruiter informed me that this interview is going to be informative, and that is what it looked like. Even more, she was so happy to tell someone how GREAT they are. In the end I was a little annoyed by that. Then she asked me if I had any questions. I didn't have any honestly, she already told so much. Maybe I was a little rude, but it was unrelated. The next day I got a rejections email from a bot saying: "The manager enjoyed her call with you, but unfortunately we will not be moving forward with your candidacy at this time. If a new role opens better suited/matching your background and expertise, I will ring you immediately!" My reaction was: "What the hell!". You have made me go through the technical screening to tell me that they don't have a proper position? I maybe sounded a little uninterested or rude, but she called by a conference phone, and the speech was not clear. After listening to her for half an hour, how well I fit multiple positions... Stay away from their recruiters. They would waste your time just because they can. It looks like I am not the only one who had a similar negative experience judging by reviews.
