Initial phone screen, hiring manager call and then virtual onsite with 4 one on one interviews and presentation. Long but overall it was a pleasant experience. Recruiter was pretty responsive all of the time and followed up

Entretien
I went through the initial phone screening process. At the beginning everything was going smoothly. It took a downhill fall when I was asked about salary expectation. I gave them a figure based on my research for Palo Alto, CA location. then the recruiter informed me that this position is based on Normal, IL and is a level I position. I asked for clarification and got a vague response.
Also when I asked about work life balance; they told me straight away that there is no work life balance you will be working 10-12 hrs. a day and also on weekends. they compensate you by giving unlimited paid time off (there should be a catch to this).
During the whole process the interviewer kept bragging about Rivian; asked me 1 technical question and my work history and why I want to leave my current job.
Felt like the interview was rushed.

Applied online, got email from Rivian's recruiter to provide my availability in the calendar for interview. She didn't call or discuss any details. The process took 1 week start to finish!

(she didn't call or discuss the basics) Had the interveiw, here is the problem:
Job was and still is posted for their Irvine location, I asked during the interview as the hiring manager was in San Jose and he said that is wrong, job is for the Palo Alto office, and he asked IS THAT A PROBLEM FOR YOU?
He mostly asked questions about Welding and Mechanical joints, and at some point said: What was your role? Where yo ua weld engineer??
My role and tasks and accomplishments are in my resume; read it first.
At the end I asked him what skills exactly he is looking for for this role; weld/joint or adhesive applications; he said I kinda like to have all in my team!!!
My question: What is your timing to fill this role? Answer: ASAP. I asked don't you have a project timing or gate to meet and provide your team's deliverables, he answer, as I said ASAP!
