Painfully slow and opaque. I was initially very excited about the opportunities they had posted. Seems like a growing, open and exciting place to work and it may be just that. The recruiting group is arrogant, opaque, and have no consideration of applicants time and energy. To be clear, a company has every right to say no to a candidate. They are under no obligation to say why. However, they do not live up to the expectations of the values present in every conversation and on the website. The level of effort and time did not match the result. After a four-month process and hazy job descriptions. The job titles were not correct and a lot of fuzziness about what the jobs were. At the very least they are sweeping a wide net. After multiple phone and Skype interviews, they flew me out to their HQ. Had to take a 5 am flight for a series of ad-hoc meetings. The interviewers didn't seem to know what I was interviewing for, much less how I would fit in, or what role in what city. After a couple of hours of meetings, I was taken to lunch, and one by the recruiting group, where one person set expectations that they couldn't possibly meet and the other left after wolfing down the free homogenous sandwich he left without even cursory niceties.
The recruiter promised feedback and next steps within 24 hours. A week later, I received a completely poorly written ambiguous negative response that went back on self three times. I wasn't the right fit, and they were reevaluating the needs of the company. That there were the same roles in other cities (which I had made clear I was interested in) and the decisions would move slowly but could go fast. They double talk, and the inability to communicate is extremely disrespectful and dismissive.
Again, I'm not upset that I was not offered a position, but, they wasted a lot of time, and created a significant level of effort for nothing. If the recruiting folks represent how the company operates, then all applicants should be very wary of joining this company of ambiguity.
