I have been internally referred to this position. I have been contacted by the colleague. The initial discussion was very engaging and I have been invited to give a presentation. The presentation went well, but then I have been ghosted for 1.5 months. Later I have learned that they have take another candidate, my former colleague. Yet until the last moment I did not know about the state of my application, they did not even send a rejection and stop calling me every week after 2 weeks. Very mixed feelings - good interview and discussions, but very unprofessional handing of the candidate after.
