J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. J'ai passé un entretien chez Red Hat (Raleigh, NC) en sept. 2020
Entretien
I was referred via the Ambassador Referral program. I was told by my manager that there were several Technical Writer positions available. During the initial phone screen the recruiter did not seem enthused and unprepared. He then told me that someone else had been chosen for the first opening. I thought that was the end of my interview opportunities at Red Hat.
Then, a week later he contacted me again about another TW position. I had a 30 minute interview with the hiring manager who was very professional and likable. There was also a writing assessment which was not as intimidating as I had imagined. Basically, multiple choice grammar and clarity questions and rewriting several product descriptions. Within an hour after speaking with her, a different recruiter contacted me about the next steps in the interview process. The next interview was a 2 hour interview with 4 team members. Many of the questions were competency based questions. So, look those up online and be prepared to give examples from previous jobs. A week after interview 3 I received a job offer.

I had an initial call with a member of the talent acquisition team. She provided very detailed information about the role and the company, along with a clear overview of the interview process. A few days later, I had a 40-minute call with the hiring manager and a senior writer. The conversation was quite casual and stress-free. They asked me some basic questions about my favorite tools, preferred Linux distribution, and more. The rest of the conversation focused on generic technical writing questions and my personal experience with technical documentation. The final step would have involved a longer call with other team members; however, I was not selected to proceed with the interview process. The talent acquisition partner with whom I initially spoke called me to deliver the news and provided personalized feedback, which I greatly appreciated. Overall, it was a positive experience with a very professional attitude from the Red Hat team members.
