I applied for a senior marketing role online and, within a couple of days, received an invitation to complete Red Bull’s WingsFinder assessment, which included a behavioral evaluation and a cognitive exercise. The assessment took a little over an hour to complete.
Approximately two days later, I received a voicemail around 9 AM from an HR representative expressing interest in speaking with me about the role. I returned her call around 1 PM the same day, but she did not answer. Her voicemail was not set up, so I was unable to leave a message. I also did not receive a follow-up email, which is typically standard in most recruiting processes.
I called again around 4 PM. This time, she answered and mentioned that she was driving home from work but confirmed she was still interested in connecting. Since she was driving, she asked me to send a text message to the same number as a reminder for her to follow up. I sent a professional message within five minutes, including my availability and contact information.
Unfortunately, days passed, and at the time of writing this review, it has been over three weeks without any follow-up. While I could have reached out again, the lack of professionalism left me with doubts about how seriously the process and my candidacy was being taken. It made me feel discouraged about moving forward.
Red Bull, I genuinely admire your brand and would have loved the opportunity to contribute to your team. I hope this feedback is helpful and leads to improvements in the candidate experience.
