Entretien
I was approached by the team for a "quick outreach task" for my freelance capacities, assuming this would take one or two hours of my time and the team would have some of the content ready and approved for the outreach.
When I spoke to the team, they wanted me to plan an entire outreach campaign for one of their clients including coming up with a "creative angle" for pitching the product, writing the press pitch, sourcing suitable publications and contacts, handling the outreach as well as the follow up communication. I received the phone call on a Friday afternoon before the Easter holidays and they wanted the task done the following Tuesday.
It was clear the team was very disorganised and stressed to push the client's product, which they wanted to get ranked in Google in March. It was already April, a task like that requires at least six weeks in advance not just for getting approval of outreach emails and content for the campaign but also for Google to pick up the content. The time pressure was put upon me. Besides the blatant assumption I would work over a bank holiday is mind-blowingly rude and fully disrespectful. On top of that they wanted to pay 250 quid.
During the phone call, I didn't raise my concerns but was listening to their ideas and their timelines on how to proceed. I thanked them afterwards and was left waiting for the rest of the day for further instructions. I send them a Thank You note but never received a reply. I wouldn't have worked with them anyway but I found the ghosting another massive red flag. Unprofessional and not worth my time.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
Please provide three different angles on how you would promote the product. Please describe your approach when doing outreach. How do you source potential publications?
Thank you for your feedback. As your review is based on events over 3 years ago I have been unable to investigate. Please email hr@resignal.com so we can look into this in more detail.
