Unfortunately, or maybe actually fortunately I never got as far as the interview stage. The entire hiring process is long, tedious and frankly quite disheartening and discouraging. Part of me understands where the company is coming from - they’ve developed a sophisticated IT software so perhaps they want the hiring process to be similar? Who knows. Firstly I received an invitation to complete a Predictive Index Behaviour Assessment - was a little surprised and didn’t know what to expect but went ahead and answered questions about myself all the while thinking “how odd...” received an email the following day saying that my “behaviour profile is of interest” (that whole sentence irked the hell out of me because HOW do you determine that but fine, moving on) and I was invited to complete a cognitive assessment this time. 50 questions and 12 minutes to complete. There’s something about tests that really truly stresses me out especially when I have no clue what to expect and have no time to prepare but I guess that’s what they want right? The cognitive assessment was all about adding up fractions, IQ style shape sequences and what the next number should be etc. and all I could think of is all those fancy pointless tests for a customer service manager role? This doesn’t add up. Do I really want to work for a company that puts greater stress on online test stats before even meeting the candidate or speaking to them over the phone? All in all, I’ve completed maybe 70% of the test and gave up, received my results from the test company which weren’t half bad however was not shortlisted for an interview. Bit of a waste of time if you ask me.
