I had previously been an intern for Qualcomm twice, once in a similar group to which I was later hired into, and once for a legal group that specialized in Discovery within the realm of litigation, so this interview was fairly easy for me. The person interviewing me gave me the option to join the team as either an intern or as a temp employee. I joined as a temp employee and was rolled over to permanent status 6 months later. I was particularly grateful, as I was still finishing my undergraduate degree at the time.
