      Entretien

      I received an email inviting me to conduct a video interview. I was asked 3 questions: why Qatar, why I am right for the position and what is my motivation for applying for the position. For each question, you will have time to record your answer, watch the video and redo it if you are not happy as many times as you want. At the end you can add a video presentation. So far, so good. Now I am waiting for the next step.

      I applied online via the Qatar Airways job portal. It took about a month before I was contacted to schedule a face-to-face interview. The interview itself was fairly standard. However, I did notice that timelines were not respected. The interview started about 15 minutes late, which was not ideal after committing to the commute. At the end of the interview, I was told the result would be shared by the following week, but that deadline passed without an update. I had to follow up myself to get the result, which eventually came only after my follow-up. Overall, the process was straightforward in terms of interview content, but the repeated delays and lack of timely communication left a less professional impression.

      Applied at the end of January and received an email in late February inviting me for an interview, which was held via Teams at the end of March. The process was very slow and unclear from the start. I had applied for both the Corporate and Offline Markets. Although I had a stronger background in corporate sales, I was told that the corporate position was no longer available as it had been filled internally, something that should have been disclosed upfront. The position I was interviewed for wasn’t clearly defined; it just vaguely mentioned “Europe,” with no further clarity about the specific regions. The recruiter did not provide a detailed job brief, which made preparation difficult. The interview itself was disappointing. The “hiring manager” was completely disengaged, no proper greeting, no smile, no effort to create a welcoming atmosphere. It felt like they didn’t want to be there, and their attitude made me question whether they should be leading interviews at all. I have interviewed with top-tier companies, and this was among the least professional experiences I have had. If this is the person representing Qatar Airways in London, it’s no surprise that previous employees have left similar feedback. I feel sorry for people who have to cooperate with that. If I had known the salary range beforehand (which wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the process but is visible on Glassdoor), I wouldn’t have applied at all. I value my time, and this process felt like a complete waste of it.
