Worst experience I’ve ever had. Initially applied and recruiter sent a link for me to select a date/time that worked for me for a phone screening. The link held only one date and time and unfortunately I was out of town on vacation (ahh, pre-covid life!). I emailed her back and asked if there was another date or time (was out of town for a long weekend, Friday was the ONLY day I wasn’t available).
She responded back...4 weeks later. When she responded she told me to decline the invite and she’s send new dates, but only for Friday because it’s the only day she’s available. I get the invite with the link and the only day with options is...Thursday. So I select a time and then politely respond asking if that’s correct, because she explicitly specified she’s only free Friday. She gets rude about it and abruptly tells me the all day meeting she was going to attend on Thursday was cancelled (I don’t get an answer for why the agreed upon Friday is now off the table). These email exchanges all take place on the same day.
The phone screen day comes and...I never get a call. After about 5 minutes into the designated window I call her and get her voicemail, so I leave her a voicemail and follow up with an email.
I didn’t hear back until...5 months later when I get an automated email telling me they hired someone else (as if I would ever consider working there after dealing with that recruiter).
Meanwhile, this particular recruiter’s emails are LITTERED with spelling and punctuation errors, their ancient (SuccessFactors - really??) recruiting system is horrible to interact with and even lists a different recruiter’s name than the one I’m working with (though he probably would have been more competent because I can’t imagine anyone more incompetent).
And for those who don’t know what OD is - it’s generally housed within or adjacent to HR, so interviewing for these roles is typically a great experience (at least on the people side if not the tech side) because you’ll be in the same business unit with them.
