I applied for the role and the recruiter reached out thru LinkedIn. Had a Long conversation about my background and she proceed to set up an interview .
I arrived and ring the bell . No one came to open the door though like 20 people saw me.
Talk about unfriendly culture. Finally , the receptionist came back to her desk and let me in.
One of the interviewer was awful and had an issue smiling. she opened with “tell me about yourself,” which is possibly the most useless way to start an interview, empirically. No data is gained from this question aside from whether or not the person has an interview coach which doesn’t correlate to job performance (or job preparedness) in any actual research on interviews. The irony is that she was part of human resource – so you’d think she would know a shred of the interviewing literature. Nope. Then, after I “told her about myself,” she said “ I ask you again tell me about yourself. “ She also lacked knowledge of the Singapore working culture.
Another issue was the extreme impatience and inability to follow anything I said beyond two sentences. The interview ended by her saying that the recruiter will be in touch in a week .
2 weeks later I reached out . The recruiter claim that the job scope had change hence they were looking for someone slightly junior.
Couldn’t they have figured that out before calling candidates for interview or perhaps conduct video interviews instead ? No respect for people’s time at all.
J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Publicis Sapient (Arlington, VA) en août 2022
Entretien
Sapient started off with the standard phone interview with the recruiter, afterwards I interviewed with individuals that either are at the position I was interviewing for or were in my position previously.
This all spanned over the course of 2 weeks, the recruiter was consistently in letting me know next steps and asking how I felt the interview process was going.
Although I didn't receive the job offer I do plan on applying again!
