HR called me and asked me to come interview with the nutrition/food services department.
Once at the interview, we were in a small conference room with three department supervisors and the HR (4 people) each taking turns asking unique questions relating to Mission Hospital's Core Values and each taking notes on my answers. I quickly learned that I needed to come up with answers about my experience that related to their 4 core values - Dignity, Service, Excellence and Justice. It was tricky to come up with impromptu answers. I was surprised there were 4 people interviewing with me - since it was an entry level job without a degree/certificate in hand. I would have expected the job interview experience to be this way for a more professional position.
The interview lasted about 45 minutes. They asked me if I wanted to shadow the department and I was happy to get the opportunity to do that.
Once hired, I needed to wait two weeks to start because I had to attend the hospital orientation, get a panel of vaccinations (because i would be in contact with patients) and take a physical assessment test to make sure I could life, stoop, bend, etc.
