A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn to set up an interview with the CMO. It was scheduled for 6am PST to align with the CMO's EST time zone, despite there being no written expectation for this role to work or be available during east coast hours. When I joined the meeting at 6am, the recruiter popped on and told me the CMO couldn't make it, and felt it was "too late" to tell me via email that we needed to reschedule. I was set up on another interview the following week with a creative director, and a few days later with that same creative director and a senior designer who had essentially been performing the role that this position would assume. Finally I met with the CMO who needed to reschedule. All conversations went well, and I felt super confident about my candidacy, but I never had an opportunity to meet with the recruiter, so no one established the nuts and bolts of this role: working hours, provided equipment, benefits, etc. There was no screener, I just went straight to the interviews with the team. Working hours especially was a huge point of confusion since I interviewed with west coasters who mentioned recurring 6am meetings without clearly stating whether I would be asked to work east coast hours. When I emailed the recruiter a few days after my last interview to ask these questions, she let me know they had moved forward with someone else, so ultimately I never got that information. The role went live again on LinkedIn a couple of months later, and I reached out to express my renewed interest as I was still job hunting. I was told the role was already filled, and I had reached out less than an hour after the posting went live on LinkedIn. This recruiter experience was unlike any I've ever had and it really soured my view of the company and the role.
