This interview review is for those that are nervous about applying or are in the interview process and would like some reassurance. If it’s meant for you, you’ll get it, have faith! In May I applied to progressive and passed the assessment with flying colors. Got an invitation for the HireVue interview and never submitted because of being anxious. Fast forward to June I decided to reapply. I completed the assessment again, it was fairly easy. I will say when it comes to the personality questions answer truthfully and don’t try to pick what you think they will like. There are questions that are similar but worded differently. If you waver back and forth on those you may be disqualified. The HireVue interview was nerve wracking for me, I won’t lie! Take the time and use those practice questions, it’s helpful and will get you comfortable before answering the real questions. When you get to the 8 interview questions remember to be personable, smile, and relax. If you feel like your first attempt was good, submit it! The second retry may not go as well and will be automatically submitted. If you do mess up the first time. Allow your video to play back, practice, and move forward to the second attempt when you’re ready. I messed up on one of my questions on the second attempt and I had a split moment of thinking of just quitting the whole process but kept persevering through. I stated in the video that I wanted to start my response over and proceeded to do so. I just knew I had blew it when I was finished but the next morning I got an invite for the one on one live interview. I scheduled it on a Friday two days out. The live interview was just as nerve wracking to be honest. I’m not an inauthentic personal so the STAR format isn’t my favorite. I answered the questions the best that I could and stubbles through several. The turn around of my interview was the end when I was asked if I had any questions. I had several about development resources, volunteering, and the culture. I believe the questions that I prepared caught my interviewer off guard and she stumbled a little but it just made the process more comfortable. The interview lasted 45 mins. That following Wednesday I received my call for the contingency offer!! I’ll leave a detailed timeline below for those like me.
