Received a request to interview a few days after applying. Upon joining the call, I could hear that the recruiter was in their kitchen putting things in their sink, and not at their desk (not professional at all) while asking me to introduce myself and share my background and experience. After sharing this, the recruiter asked if I had any questions about the role, which was surprising because a typical recruiter would share details about the role, even as basic of things like confirm the role title, description of responsibilities, etc. So I had to ask about the role, why there was an opening, where the role fit in the org structure. At the end, the recruiter wanted to tell me next steps, which included the fact that there were a few internal candidates applying for the role as well. At this point I realized I was not moving forward, and questioning why this phone screen was even happening if they weren't taking me seriously. They said they would follow up in about a week, but never did follow up. This company's reputation is tarnished in my opinion, and I'm glad I'm not moving forward. I have several friends in the construction industry, and will share my opinions about this organization freely. Disappointing.
